Sequences, hyperslabs and selections

I am very curious what answer this will receive. Right now, for any
OPeNDAP server we have that returns sequences, such as the java
Database server, if I try to give a hyperslab I get an error. Also,
if I have a grid type, and I try to give it a constraint expression,
I get an error.

Does the DAP 2 specifications not allow the actions above, or are
these capabilities theoretically in the specifications and not
implemented in the servers?
